The Garmin Etrex 20 builds on the solid Etrex 10 features. It's tough and accurate in a way you've come to expect from Garmin. But the Etrex 20 delivers even greater function with a color screen, preloaded world wide base map and extensive map support via SD card!
The Etrex 20 sports an enhanced 2.2 inch 65K color, sunlight readable display. Of course, it's durable and waterproof so it's ready for all adventures. And the preloaded basemap can be augmented with numerous detailed maps via the SD card slot. It's compatible with a variety of maps, including TOPO 24K, BlueChart® g2, City Navigator NT® and BirdsEye™ Satellite Imagery (subscription required).
Garmin has also built paperless geocahing into the Etrex 20. It stores and displays key information, including location, terrain, difficulty, hints and descriptions, which means no more manually entering coordinates and paper print outs. Simply upload the GPX file to your unit and start hunting for caches.
Featuring a high-sensitivity, WAAS-enabled GPS receiver and HotFix® satellite prediction, the Etrex 20 acquires position quickly and holds even in deep cover. And it comes ready to receive GLONASS data too. GLONASS is a system developed by the Russian Federation that will be fully operational in 2012 and the Etrex 20 can receive both GLONASS and GPS signals simultaneously offering much faster signal aquisition and 24 more satellites than GPS alone.
