The Katadyn Combi Microfilter combines the awesome filtration of a 0.2 micron ceramic depth filter with the benefits of carbon for better taste and absorption of harmful chemicals.  Like Katadyn's other ceramic filters, it has an enormous capacity too, up to 13000 gallons!

The Combi Microfilter is effective against sediments and suspended matter in your water as well as bacteria and protozoa such as Cryptosporidium and Giardia.  It goes a step further though by adding carbon to reduce chemicals and improve odor and taste.  If you're filtering especially poor water, the Combi has another great benefit.  The carbon can actually be easily replaced with the Carbon Refill sold here at Great Escapes.  The Combi includes two carbon packages when purchased, each rated for appoximately 200 L or 6 months.
