Petzl achieved this wonder by building on the standard three lighting levels that can be chosen during activity.  For each of those levels, the user can now customize the light output from among ten intensity settings, from a mere 8 lumens up to 140 lumens.  There's even a boost mode of 160 lumens (for a beam length of 97 meters) when you need just a quick increase for a specific task.  

This allows the user to program the lamp for precisely their preference and the specific activity at hand.  Full on brightness for a quick night run, battery sipping brightness for a long weekend, and anything in between.  You can even select the order in which the three levels are activated.  All programming is accomplished via the buttons on the unit. 

The regualted circuitry means the MYO RXP offers consistent brightness over the course of battery life, then automatically switches to reserve power mode when batteries are almost depleted.  The RXP is compatible with AA or Lithium batteries for exceptional cold weather performance.  In addition to the user defined power levels and boost mode, the MYO RXP also includes a flashing mode that can be programmed to slow, fast or SOS.  A Wide Angle lens offers the option of switching instantly from a focused beam to a wide beam when necessary.
