The foundation is an ultra-bright white LED that pushes out up to 60 lumens in it's maximum mode.  That's enough for clear vision out to 60m.   There are 3 settings so you'll have a lower battery consumption option when all that power isn't needed, and even a blinking mode for night time play, signaling or use as a safety light when near the road.  A flip up diffuser lens lets you switch from long distance spot to flood lighting in a snap.
